Mechanic bodies and cranes, spec'd and installed together. A mechanic body adds the structure for a crane, air compressor and power to a service body. VSI is a Stellar dealer and installs Stellar TMAX mechanic bodies, sized by crane from the TMAX 16K to the TMAX 3. We match the body and crane to your chassis, GVWR and heaviest lift.

Which one fits
1. Lift at reach
A crane's capacity drops as the boom extends. Size it for your heaviest lift at the distance you'll actually reach. A Stellar 3315 lifts 3,200 lb at 3'7" but 765 lb at 15'.
2. Electric or hydraulic
Electric-hydraulic cranes run off the truck battery and suit lighter, occasional lifts. Hydraulic cranes need a PTO and pump but lift more, more often.
3. Body and chassis
The body must be built for the crane, with reinforcement and outriggers. Stellar TMAX mechanic bodies are sized to their cranes. TMAX bodies need the right CA and GVWR for the crane; send the chassis and we'll confirm.

Questions
Can I put a crane on my existing service body?
Only if the body is built or reinforced for it. Send the body make and model. Often a crane body or a TMAX is the right answer.
Do you build the whole mechanics truck?
Yes. We spec the chassis, Stellar TMAX body, crane, compressor and power together and install the package at our Commerce City shop.
Will a crane push my truck over the CDL line?
It can. A Class B CDL applies at 26,001 lb GVWR and up. We spec the chassis, body and crane together.
